A day's
trek down to the river Balasun to Namshu and again climbing uphill
to Kurseong on the opposite mountain range is a fascinating experience.
On the way, you will come across tea gardens, orange orchards and
small villages where you can come close to the rustic way of life
led by the hardworking hill folk.
Mirik
is well-connected to both Darjeeling and Siliguri from where it
takes about a couple of hours to reach there by road. You can also
go for a short trip from Darjeeling or Siliguri to Mirik and come
back on the same day.
