Manaslu Trekking is a well-known and well-loved
trekking as that provides perfect views of
mountains, combination of rich cultural heritage,
genuine adventure, incomparable beauty and
biological variety. Mt. Manaslu [8163m] is the eight
highest peaks in the world, was opened for the
trekking purpose only in 1992. It is located near to
the border of Nepal and Tibet. The name Manaslu
means "The spirit-mountain", the local dialects
refer it to be the benevolent and strong deity that
dwells within. No doubt that the trekking in Manaslu
region is one of the most delightful adventures. If
you would like to experience both extremes of the
trekking in Nepal and willing to see the most
breath-taking scenery of mountain on earth, then
make a mind to have trekking in the Manaslu circuit
via Larkya La, where you can see that the Tibetan
community are residing at Nupri, the north of
Manaslu on the head of the Budi Gandaki. It was
opened for foreigners only in 1991. Manaslu trekking
is geographically spectacular and culturally
fascinating. The Tibetans of the upper Budi Gandaki,
a region known as Nupri, are direct descendants of
Tibetan immigrants. Their speech, dress and customs
are almost exclusively Tibetan and there is still
continuous trade between Nupri and Tibet. The
mountain views in Nupri are sensational and the
Larke pass (5,213m) is a dramatic Himalayan pass to
cross.
